Intensive Russian Attacks Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has increased attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and applying penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.
